The same was said about George Washington .. he consciously said 'no' so we wouldn't go back to being a monarchy .... but it goes to show the thought process of human beings. Those people just fought for years to get away from monarchy and the first thing they wanted when they got out was to go back.

I've always been ok with a 'kingdom' as long as the King was benevolent etc. If we all had the same rights that we have now, but we had a based King would protect these rights, the people and our interests, keep taxes low, it would be so hard to corrupt this person if they had a high moral willpower. They would have to be taught and trained from birth to know strategy, tactics, history, economics, why freedoms are important, having a high moral willpower, etc. If this was all done, id be ok with a King/Queen.
