Man. I keep holding out hope, but holy shit is he taking his fucking time. He could have invoked this weeks ago and prevented this shit show

I think he probably had to wait for the actual insurrection, which was completed during the congressional session on Weds/Thurs...and then had to call for peace before he could enact. Not saying he will, but he probably couldn't have invoked before that.

perhaps he had to wait for dems to call something an insurrection. they may have played right into his hands and publicly justified the act.
