I fear that this is how they'll really do people in.
There won't be anything to spark a genuine revolt, they'll just slowly drain away the threats one by one and people won't realize what's going on or be ready to resist until it's too late, with too many people already removed and facing too overwhelming a level of government power to actually do anything about it.
Sad. Not sure if this guy knows or not, but laws don't exist anymore, anywhere, that are enforced. Or laws that those in charge agree with. And the oath breakers will do what their told.
I'm suddenly reminded of Bonnie Tyler's 'I Need a Hero.' This is the west these days? No strong men in charge? No harsh reprisals or fierce defense of basic law, decency or just to that internal sense of 'This is NOT right'? No strength, no heroes, no spirited defenders, just indignation and quiet resignation out of fear of some kind of reprisal that will hurt more than the wound to your soul when you cringe away.
