hes really not tony stark. he got lucky with being a part of paypal hes not some crazy inventor genius.

the 'hyper loop' is utter buffoonery that he pretends isnt a 100 year old failed idea.

his concept of an electric jet is totally insane and not based at all in reality.

his idea that site to site rocket transport could be a feasible transport mode is total bullshit that falls apart on the slightest bit of prying.

he started an electric car company off of huge amounts of government help and started a space company off of huge amounts of government help. most of what he is doing is based off perpetuating this myth that hes some kind of ultra nicola tesla.

An idea that failed 100 years ago is not the same as a 100 year old failed idea. Technology improves, and we can build things now using 100 year old ideas that failed then but are feasible now.

Two examples:
The continuously variable transmission.
Rockets that land themselves.

constructing hundreds of miles of vacuum tube at ground level that will travel at the speed of sound is nothing at all like a variable transmission and rockets that land themselves.

two of those things have always been totally reasonable and achievable. the other is ludicrous and impossible. its really not about technology improving. its about an impossible machine.

“Creating a machine that soars through the skies, without even having propellers, AND that can cut through the air faster than the air can move out of the way is ludicrous and impossible. It’s an impossible machine.”

See how that works? Everything is impossible until you try.

nope. nothing you said is impossible the way a hyper loop is impossible. "creating a machine that allows you to walk on the surface of the sun is impossible" that is a valid comparison. "creating a machine that allows you to enter a black hole" that is a valid comparison. "creating a machine to undo entropy" is a valid comparison

creating a machine that uses easy to understand physics of air and lift is nothing at all like the hyperloop. your entire attempt to create a comparison reveals that you really have no actual information on what is involved and you have not thought through the consequences of what was actually proposed.

do you just have no clue what it takes to maintain a vacuum on that scale? hundreds of times bigger than our biggest vacuum chamber? do you not understand material science at all? do you not see the risks of an easily attacked system that where failure at one point causes the entire system to implode?

will it be you stuck in a tube without exits traveling at the speed of sound getting hit by an air wave also traveling at the speed of sounds when there is any failure at all in the system? what happens when literally anything goes wrong and you are stuck in the middle of a hundred mile vacuum tube with no exits?

do you not know anything about turbo fans or thermal expansion or vacuum seals? why would you go through the trouble of creating a system with all the hazards of space travel on the surface of the earth? why would you create a system where one lunatic with a high powered rifle can destroy the entire 'hyperloop' killing everyone inside?

maybe you can ask yourself why everyone was so stoked about it and how it was supposed to be nearing completion now 5 years ago but the best they have managed are complete joke 'test systems' that dont fulfill even the basic promises of the hyperloop over a couple hundred feet.

sorry its an impossible and ultimately ignorant psuedoscience dream.

His biggest strength is not being a genius like you said. But he is willing to bet it all on the business ideas in order for them to succeed. He has been on the brink of collapse many times in the past. Other ceos just try to line their own pockets with gold, wealth doesn’t stoke his ego. The success of his personal mission is all that matters. He is autistic af.

Sure, never really said he was though. I think he's just a dude, probably Autistic, who really, really seems to like the idea of Mars colonies and Star Trek. I can respect that. Hell of a lot better than the other rich people we got saddled with. 99% of em just wanna use their wealth to control and manipulate.
