They twist everything to make us out to be evil stupid cult members. Every time I look on Reddit, Twitter, or Facebook it’s full of nonsense about how terrible we are.
They have a video on Reddit right now from the capitol protests where there was some kind of scuffle. They say that this is the video of a cop getting murdered... only cop visible in the video is seen adjusting his helmet at the end definitely not pinned or murdered.
They don’t even watch the videos, they see whatever they’re told to see then when it doesn’t make sense they rationalize that it’s some oddity of human nature.
Comment after comment could be reflected right back at the commenters and they seem totally unaware that they’re projecting hardcore while accusing others of doing the exact bullshit they themselves are doing in that very moment.
There’s entire subreddits dedicated to reinforcing whatever comes out of political echo chambers. They believe that /r/conservatives actually has conservatives on it.... they actually think everyone went there from TD.
The depths of delusion seem bottomless, I just don’t get it and I’m stuck torturing myself like watching a train wreck unfold.

This is it exactly. My TDS mom told me she had listened to Trump's 1/6/20 speech and heard him say "Let's storm the capitol!". I pulled up the transcript of the speech on my phone and showed it to her and she just had nothing to say. I was able to search the full text and show her the word "storm" doesn't occur once.
She was adamant she had heard him say it. It's really horrifying. This is how totalitarianism happens. Individual faculties are already dead, it's just a matter of waiting for the party line.
