So Pelosi has given Pence 24 hours to invoke the 25th, or she's impeaching. I don't have many doubts they'll impeach in the House, but I'm curious about the Senate now.

Would they really have enough time to have a trial in the Senate before Trump's out? Could the Senate still vote to impeach after he's left office?

What I'm curious about is can they impeach a private citizen if the Senate votes to convict? Is there any law that says that anywhere? I've also seen people saying something about all 100 Senators needing to be on board for something in this process, but I have to admit I am VERY confused right now, so can someone on here please explain?

So much wrong with this post.

Yes, yes, no, maybe

The real problem here is not to impeach or not to impeach. The real problem is for their election scam to work, people have to believe someone is electable... which would rule out every single GOP member that signed that document.

The Senate voted on Ukraine gate in less than a week.

You can impeach a president post term.

Impeachment is a fancy word for ask questions and figure out what happened. It is not solely for removing sitting presidents.

They do not 100% of the senate

The GOP is really fucked right now with that shit show of a certification processes. The capital getting occupied doesn't change the fact that this election was stolen... blatantly. The fact that it has made it this far shows what bad shape this country is in. If the GOP further attack President Trump at this point, the GOP has not excuse for why their voters might vote for them

They will say in 2 years "I voted to certify in an act of unity and the MSM can praise their bravery and dominion can let them back in. If the impeach.... there is no story. Why are they impeachment is the question. Why does it matter? Because he is trying to destroy them and at the same time they are trying to destroy his credibility. Who wins... too soon to tell. I pray Trump, I have complete faith in Trump.

Thanks for your reply, but this bit here is what's throwing me off:

You can impeach a president post term.

What law says that? Wouldn't that be pointless?

Not enough time to impeach. You need a trial in the Senate. Trump gets time to mount a proper defense. He’s leaving in 9 days.

You can’t impeach a President who is no longer sitting in office.

The Dems are relying on the stupidity of their base to make this story believable.
