Have a generator to run fridge and freezers. Buy food on sale and store properly. Buy storage containers that fit the freezer and fridge. I use pint and quart size deli containers. Ziplocks are crumply. Maintain a diverse appreciation for all meats and veggies and know how to cook.
Dried food is light food. Cans add weight. Meat can be dried simply in salt and air and do well for enriching veggies. If it ever goes foul, you can do it.
Most importantly, don't worry. We'll know when it get really bad. In city centrals I would pay more attention to these signals of prepping.
