I am going to put it out there that we might have to start paying for a platform that supports freedom of speech. The current freemium model works because of venture capitalist at first and then massive add revenue from selling their users. $1 a month could work, I have worked in startups and the reality is that you can easily eat up a million a month in employee salary and server cost, that is needed to support millions of users.
As people flock to alt tech, those companies are struggling to keep up. Supporting millions of people in a twitter/facebook chat etc. type application takes some skill and resources.
I don't know, I am just damned concerned for our 1st Amendment. Freedom of speech is the cornerstone of freedom, in body, mind and spirt.
People are willing to support media that they like, look at all the youtubers that are making a living off donations from their fanbase. The hard part is getting a payment processor that won't cut them off. Once that's settled, many people will volunteer to keep their favorite media alive, and the ones that don't have it or don't want to pay, shouldn't have to. Some Youtube creators NEVER ask for money, even when they're demonetized, and they still get by.
Pay for Gab Pro.
Gab is a free speech platform with a free AND paid option with additional features. They do not sell our data like the big tech giants so the rely on us to pay for the product instead of making us the product sold to corporations.
