The military should not comment on political events. They should obey the orders of the Commander in Chief. DJT is the Commander in Chief until noon on Jan 20.

DNI and DIA are also quiet. No condemning the "riot"? No commemorating the fallen police officer? The left makes it seem like Jan 6 is the new 9/11 but many branches of the military has been surprisingly quiet.

You're not supposed to comment on political matters when you're in the military. I wouldn't want to touch that matter with a 10ft pole, crap from both sides.

But Chris Miller put out a statement about Biden transition and condemning the violence. So Miller is different?

Is Chris Miller active duty military? I thought he was a civilian with experience?

Chris Miller is a civilian. The general is not.

Okay that makes sense. So since he is not supposed to show any political opinion in the military. Where did the "Milley is a never Trumper" narrative come from? I've heard pedes here repeat it a few times but I was never able to find any evidence of this.

Trump and Milley have had their differences. Milley apologized for the “photo op” in front of the church during the riots. He has also disagreed with removing the troops from Afghanistan so people see him as a warmonger.

Hope mods don't ban me for this but I think there's nothing wrong with Milley apologzing for the photo op. The photo op was a political demonstration because it involved BLM so Milley apologized for that. Like you said the General shouldn't get involved in political matters.

As for withdrawing troops, he could have been disagreeing for logistic or strategic reasons. Not because he is a never Trumper.

The media took it and ran with it. I am very skeptical about Milley though. Primarily because Mattis proved to be a traitor. That one hurt bad. And his betrayal caused major distrust with the high ranking brass.

Milley was supposedly pissed off when Trump asked him to walk to the Church during the BLM riots.

When Milley went with Trump to the sportsball thing, Milley wore a mask then went from his testicles to the top of his head. It seemed like he didn't want to be seen with the President.

But we don't know what is for show and what is for real. All we can do is speculate.
