People have been calling Parler controlled opposition due to their backers but...you kind of have to wonder here, if that's true, would Amazon/Google/Apple do this to them right now (or at all really), with the obvious fallout being that Gab gets to sweep in and save the day?

I can't work out why they'd gut Parler at the most crucial moment, handing Gab this gift on a silver platter. Maybe just to...do everything they possibly can to stop conservative comms online until the 20th, banking on fascist crackdowns to undo the problem once Kamala gets in?
They also have GabTV which is a legit alternative to YouTube and GabChat. All accessible right there on your home page/ home feed. It’s legit nice looking (not quite as seemless and “nice” a as twitter yet but far and away better than Parler/ I honestly don’t understand how more flocked to Parler. Gab is much much more aesthetically pleasing.
If I were giving out grades of experience/looks/UI I’d go:
Twitter- A+ (just being honest)
Gab - a solid B or B- (and it will get better and has been getting better)
Parler- C-. I truly think Parlers UI is clunky and just blah. Commenting/ having conversation is atrocious. I never understood the flock.
For Gab The entire UI and aesthetic is very very nice (unlike Parler) and before it got bogged down it just felt like a high tier experience whereas Parler seemed more mid tier- low tier.
They’re also coming out with a Gab phone which will give many of us an opportunity to ditch our Apple and Android products.
Lastly the CEO is legit a SUPER based Christian and father.
I’m more excited about the future of gab than Parler. Gab seems to be moving towards providing an entirely new platform. An immersive experience, whereas Parler just looked like a clunky and boxy attempt at Twitter.
I’m only excited because Gab actually seems like a potential alternative platform. Yes it won’t be accessible in app stores (but just save the site to your home screen and it gives you an app icon and acts just like an app): Yes it won’t be accessible to billions. But millions and millions of conservatives able to speak freely about their views? All from a based Christian CEO? Hell yes.
They also have Dissenter and Dissenter Browser that let you post comments on sites that don't normally allow comments. Although I don't use the Dissenter comments much.

It has tracking and cookie blockers enabled (which it calls Shield Up), which can be disabled on a site-by site basis as needed, as well as the Dissenter comment platform (which connects to a Gab account) integrated into the browser so you can post and read comments by clicking a button.
Lol took like 30 mins for mine to come through. The site is definitely barely usable right now but I'm excited to see where it goes in the coming weeks. Fuck twitter, fuck commies.
Give them some credit, they're doing good work. Procuring hardware isn't an overnight thing, you have to have it built and tested and shipped and received and racked and then you can start working with it. That's assuming you've got its home already provisioned with a rack, with a switch, with power, and all that fun stuff.
This is why people use AWS, because you can provision 10 or 100 or 1,000 boxes with a simple command.
