Gab is where it's at.
Gab doesn't even work for me most of the time. Parler will be up again tomorrow. I can wait a day.
But is Gab a viable alternative to twitter and facebook, with lots of news sites, gaming sites etc, or is is an echochamber of conservatives? I mean im all for a conservative social media platform, but part of the appeal of facebook is that is not just politics, but hobbies etc as well.
Gab's been around since 2016. Its had its growing pains. As far as what the environment is like, I can't tell you. I don't know. But at some point, twitter and facebook became all politics anyway. Might as well be around the people you like.
Dude Gab has eveything. They even have Gab TV which is a youtube alt they just made. Streaming is coming soon. Anyway, on Gab you can make Groups. Which can be about anything. You make how you want it to be.
I'm still wanting to see more info about the gab phone.
It's going to be a Pixel that runs GrapheneOS with Gab pre-loaded.

what's cool is groups function really similar to r*ddit, there's even one called g/The_Donald and another one called g/Manly Men of Gab, both of which I joined of course
but it's like a combination plebbit and twitter, so your tweets are inside that group and anyone in it can see them, but if the group upvotes your post a lot it becomes visible in the entire twitter-like part of the site too, so if a group bands together they push whatever they want for everyone on the site to see. it's pretty cool
I don't know where you've been but Facebook and Twitter have been reduced to being left wing echo chambers. I understand the sentiment but this is the reality of today
Not my front page at least, then again I dont follow leftist people or pages. But I get a lot of cool news about movies, space, tech, games etc.
So twitter and Facebook literally mass censoring the President and conservatives is worth it enough to defend and stick up for them because they have “cool news about space and games”?
Just because Gab won’t be exactly on par or as massive as twitter or Facebook for a few years doesn’t mean it can’t be an amazing place for conservatives (who are being censored right and left) to share views and ideas.
And yes, Gab is going for an alternative platform. It’s not a “political site” so I’m sure eventually people will (already are?) also post about space and games there too.
There will always be a similar kind of people when it comes to early adopters. Once the market seems it's sustainable, normies start coming in.
It doesn’t have to be as big as Facebook or Twitter.
And yes it has all kinds of shit.
But again, it doesn’t have to be as massive or popular as twitter or Facebook. Who cares?
Can it be a place where millions of conservatives are able to take freely though? And upload videos freely? And chat freely? If so- then that is awesome.
I’d rather have Gab which has a core base of 10-20 million conservatives than twitter or Facebook that has billions of who knows who the fuck they are
