Yeah, if they are fully armed in peacetime at a gas station I can fully confirm as a recent retired military officer this ain't no weekend warrior drill.
Weapons are strictly not allowed anywhere near civilians at a truck stop. BIG NO GO. It freaks out the public just like this couple to the tilt.
"Weapons are strictly not allowed"... We did it literally a half dozen times while I was in service. Specifically in Texas, stopping at truck stops for fuel, was driving between bases for exercises.
Hey, like I said, never seen it. Walking into a gas station with an M4 was just a major faux pas but all commands are different. Sounds like you have a fun one.
Was there a crew serve mounted. I could not tell but that is messed up rolling into the local WaWa or whatever with that bad boy. I don't know...just not something I have ever seen on a balmy peaceful day and this is having served in 3 states in the guard. It was not allowed. TX may be an outliner though.
Yeah, I've seen plenty of humvees, just never seen Strykers driven on the open road. It's a long long way between Ft Bliss and Ft Hood, I'm just surprised they would drive them instead of hauling them by flatbed or train, which is what I usually see here.
Trump is still president and therefore still in control of the military. There's your insight. Whether or not this has something to do with the inauguration, I don't think anybody has a clue.
Reserves have to travel and many times use their own armory. Most north eastern marine reserve bases travel to Quantico for rifle qual this way.
What we see in the video is not that. What I didn't see was a rifle on that person. We would have to secure our gear in the transportation and post a guard. We couldn't take our rifles in to stock up on garbo foods at a rest stop, for example.
I was in 20 years. I did too but rarely. It's not normal SOP and absolutely not crew serve rolling down the street. Only time we did that was the big annual training center in South Dakota. Locals knew we were training with blanks. Been doing it for years.
A lesson learned in Katrina, the liberals took pictures and used it as a big fake fear weapon then starting freaking people out in the news. The people did not know they were being played and turned against us. They went from waving to flicking us off in no time. Crazy shit. We changed SOP and only used weapons at checkpoint and guarding banks and shit.

He DID say they were armed in Texas.

You drove Strykers from Ft Hood to Ft Bliss?
Strykers were just coming into existence back in those days so no, everybody was still in humvees.
We went a few places in Texas, I don't remember going to Ft. Bliss though.

There's some in-fighting on this thread whether the military is Biden's or not. Any insight?

If anything, it's added security for Trump's trip to the border tomorrow.
Fair enough. Thanks for the response.
There isn't going to be an inauguration, though - Biden's team said it would be virtual because of the MAGA march.
Then that makes him the Virtual President
Is it that or he's afraid of getting the 'coof?
Been Obama’s the entire time.
So that's partially true.
