Each printer will leave enough forensic detail at a microscopic level that can be uniquely traced. Its not limited to color or B&W its all based on the mechanics of how the print works.
Shit nowadays most business probably ask for your ID before you can use the printer. They used to just be inside grocery stores and libraries but not anymore, at least where I live. Gotta go to a UPS store type place
