she said "Die Meinungsfreiheit könne nur durch den Gesetzgeber, nicht nach der Maßgabe von Unternehmen eingeschränkt werden."

"Freedom of expression can only be restricted by the legislature, not according to the requirements of companies."

I was born in austria and lived in central europe for 30 years. Every single german i talked to hated merkel. Don't think voter fraud only exists in the US.

Nah dude, as pede living in the more based parts in Germany I can assure you there are a metric fuck ton of people who either don't care about politics and/or believe everything the state media says.

They already restricted the Sanctity of Home from the Grundgesetz, Article 13, if they "find or suspect you to be a health risk." It has so many asterisks attached it's fucking scary.

It also shows that they can restrict the already weak Grundgesetz on a whim, showing it's not a right but a privilege our gracious führers can take away at any time.

One of the fault lines that they have opened up on themselves: the tech companies and NGO/similar orgs want to dictate to the political class, and the political class wants to use them as the weapons to further their own agendas. Both want the ultimate authority; both will not concede to the other. This should be fun to watch.

Great example of why Communism will never work. People are not equal and you will always have various political groups vying for power.

The unfortunate thing is: it works well enough for long enough to do lasting and fatal damage to both individuals and society.

Freedom of expression in Germany is even worse than on Jack Dorsey's Twatter.

Don't think so, well at least not in the Netherlands. Jack is way worse and you can't fight him in court. We can go pretty far, the only MAJOR exception is anything surrounding holocaust denial, but that's pretty logical when looking at our history. And you really need to be a crackhead to go that low, so yeah. Anything Trump says would be 100% legal here anyways, Wilders has gone a lot further.

Didn't Germany ban Kiss(a band made up of jews) until they agreed to change their logo to not look like runes?

If she actually believed that she wouldn't have passed the NetzDG which explicitly forces private companies to enact extra-judicial censorship.
