If we go by the theory that the Empire was created to stop the Vong, Palpatine never actually did anything wrong. The Vong killed like half the fuckin galaxy and terraformed conquered planets into uninhabitable wastelands. He would have saved an uncountable number of lives by using the Death Star on their worldships and having the entire galaxy unified, militarized, and ready to fight back.
He was PISSED when Tarkin misused big laser. If he hadn't died at Yavin I imagine he would have been executed.

The old EU was so fucking cool. Only good things from Disney Star Wars is Rogue One and Mando. The DT can suck it.
Rogue One was badass, and I LOVE Kyle Katarn, who originally got the plans. Jedi Outcast was awesome.
