Recommendation on a reasonable priced Shortwave Radio or ham radio receiver? I am cluessless on this topic. I bought one but it is pretty much junk because you have to have the skills of surgeon to tune in a station.. A micro adjustment and the station is gone.

Per the main thread, people recommend “baofeng” handhelds as being good for cheap intro. Made in China but least cost to entry. You can look into ICOM or Yaesu for Japanese variants, Kenwood as recommended American options. I was researching Midway electronics as an American supplier (components origin unknown, probably China) for a diy HF option https://midwayelectronics.us/qrp/

I am not an operator but from yesterday’s thread I’m looking into it. Seems like best place to start is get the technician license
