Aren’t they doing all of this a little prematurely? If Trump has an ace up his sleeve, they are doing to much too soon. They are days away from having the keys to the Whitehouse yet they are flailing around shushing everything that moves. I’m almost amused.
I think they are not so much being premature as they have realized that Trump has nothing. That's how Jan 6th looked to me - his speech there sounded like a wind down, self consolation "we tried our best" kind of thing.
It was obvious that he was caught completely unprepared for the Capitol incident.
Finally his response to handling it was 'we must be peaceful' - which removes literally the only possible hope we had left.
Worst part is that it wasn't him who actually issued the orders to military to go in and clear the protesters from the building.
The reason they went utterly off the rails is that everything about that day looks like a most thorough and utter defeat. Which was than cemented by the many 'conservative' and 'centrist' voices turning around to condemn the only people who actually tried to put up any resistance to the steal.
He wasn't caught unprepared, he knew what he was doing. Delayed to build energy. He had his people slip in and nab Pelosi's laptop dressed as NG. He was the opposite of unprepared.
