Used it for a short period of time when I had a website I was trying to drive traffic to. But it was a complete failure and drove zero traffic. My site wasn't political and I wasn't selling anything. Just wanted people to read what I was writing and hopefully click on some ads so I could get some affiliate money. But twitter and facebook both failed for me and ultimately the time spent writing articles just wasn't worth it. So I killed the website and killed the twitter and facebook account at the same time. That was at least 5 years ago. But I never used twitter or facebook for personal means. I could give a rat's ass if my relative is having dinner at the local dive or that my nephew had a birthday party and his mom took a shit load of pics. And if anyone takes a pic of me I tell them that had better not end up on any social media site or I will sue their ass to have it removed. They all think I'm joking when I say that. But they quickly realize I'm dead serious.
