Hey guys, things are feeling pretty bleak and I've been getting more depressed by the day. I'm a married man in my 30s with a 1 year old daughter and I'm so afraid for her future. What kind of country are we leaving for her? Add on that I lost my job the week before Thanksgiving.. it's been a pretty depressing couple of months.

You guys always make me laugh and smile though, so I'm hoping for some of that medicine right about now! I don't feel like I can talk to my wife or anyone in my family about how I'm feeling, but you guys have become like a family to me over the last 5 years so I thought I'd just voice my feelings here.

Thanks for reading!

You need to be strong for your family. Take some time offline, no media/tv/phone for emergencies only. Take care of yourself, we can hold the line here pede.

My suggestion is to spend time outside, especially gardening! Now would be a perfect time to get a small containerized victory garden going! All foofoo bullshit aside, getting your hands in the soil is grounding.

Cheapo small pots, some buckets, some soil and seeds are all you need! I recommend beans, potatoes, peppers and tomatoes first time around!

Very general info, but should be enough to get set up for the coming season! If you (or anyone here) has questions, I'm an open book!

MAKE VICTORY GARDENS MANDATORY AGAIN

Thanks, I actually really enjoy gardening. I even have a greenhouse. It’s still a bit too cold and wet to start here yet (Puget Sound region).

I could get my greenhouse cleaned up and ready for this year though. Thanks for the advice.
