This is why Twitter is not going away and why a 5% drop in the stock price is nothing: they made 1.5 billion in after tax profit in 2019. The only way to screw Twitter is to put pressure on their advertisers. Large companies have huge marketing budgets and allocate to various channels including digital, television, sponsorships etc. Until they quit spending money on Twitter, Twitter will exist. The advertisers have to feel the heat and have to determine that Twitter is too risky and decide that there are better places to spend their advertising dollars. I’m an MBA in marketing and have seen first hand where marketing teams decide how many millions to give to an NFL football team and how many tens of millions to give to Facebook and or Twitter etc. If PR channels got blown up with resentment for advertising on Twitter, we would maybe consider eliminating that channel, but it would take a lot of pressure. Most companies are very woke and will probably spend more on Twitter now that Twitter has “bashed the fash”. Mass boycotts of the advertisers is the only option, and very unlikely to happen. Our movement would essentially have to bastardized Twitter the way that info wars has been.
