Exactly. And unless an ISP is declared a public utility then they still can be fucked.

I believe that to be accurate...but I am no expert. Have heard this mentioned and believe it.

VPNs

Vpns will sidestep this if it happens correct?

No. How are you going to reach servers not online.

That is a different issue.

Gab owns their own servers.

If Gab or TD is blocked by ISPs their blocks can be sidestepped using VPN correct?

I don't think so – You're still using the same ISP even with a VPN, right? I don't know I could be wrong.

It works by encrypting your web traffic before it passes through the isp.

ISPs can't identify the encryption data.

You basically use a middleman who surfs the data for you, makes it secret and it is decoded at your personal device preventing ISP from making sense of it.

The fact is that Gab needs an (or several!) ISPs as well in order to stay connected t the internet. And since the repeal of net neutrality, they're free to do whatever they want, including communist censorship.

You are missing the point. Verizon/Comcast/ATT can just refuse to service their datacenter. How is your VPN going to connect on an internet connection that doesn't exist.
