Dude, it really is. Even some of the brighter people I know seem to completely forget stuff they treated as world-shattering a week later. I know they employ psychological tricks to persuade listeners, but I'd really like to know exactly how they manage to cycle out memories so fast.

It's because they're triggered to have an emotional reaction to an opinion not have a coherent view on an issue. Trump (bad) did/said this (bad thing) and why you should be mad. Over and over again so they're always mad at Trump but they can't ever remember why
