The reality is most people can’t afford a bunker with a generator and all that survival stuff. If we are hit with a nuke by China or suddenly none of us have electricity, water, transportation, communication. People always say “just get money and get prepared.” That’s not helpful. What is the realistic advise for those who only has about $500 in the bank and something happens suddenly? How will we communicate? How will we heat ourselves in the winter for those that aren’t in the south ? If we were hit now with no warning or time to prepare, how would you react? Where is someone supposed to go if they don’t have family? What about conservatives in the city? What should people do if they can’t afford a gun or restricted to buy one because of where they live? I feel bad for Gen Z teens who want to be prepared but they have liberal parents setting them up for failure, I don’t want these kids to be thrown to the wolves. We are not prepared. Edit: I’m not asking for myself. I’ve been watching prepping shows for years. I’m asking for the people in this situation because we all know they exist. I’ve seen others ask and they get a non answer of “just get prepared”

Go on Craigslist, find a food-safe 55 gallon drum with a lid, fill it with a hose.
Go to the grocery store, buy big bags of rice and beans.
Buy a weather radio with a dynamo crank and a USB port to charge devices.
By a truckload of firewood.
Latest report, it hasn't affected the Amish in Pennsylvania so far.
Big truth right here pedes.
Just avoid eating the brain to prevent contracting a prion disease and you should be OK.
I reacted by bugging out years ago. Busting my ass and getting a homestead going.
If you didn't hede the warnings until now that's a real bummer.
Deal with things in the order they are trying to kill you. How long can you be without what you need to live? 3 minutes air. 3 days water. 3 weeks food.
My current read on the situation is that you need at least two weeks supplies to not be fucked completely. What would you need to hunker down in place for two weeks? Can you cook with the power out? Sort that out first.
That’s what I mean though. People who are younger than us who just didn’t know any better are being told if they didn’t listen to the warnings they are just fucked. Young people don’t even hear these warnings to begin with really
beans and rice last a long time and are dirt cheap other than that, maybe a survivor man marathon, or something better, is in order. Remember you can acquire knowledge for next to nothing and it is more valuable than money.
Also start being really nice to anyone that already has their shit in order.
Pray.
Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Don't be a useless cunt.
The guy is acting for practical advice, he's evidently worried for himself or others and wants a practical plan of action.
You're not part of some grand plan, God would want you to behave sensibly and take responsibility for your own life, not just sit back and expect things to fall into place.
😂 I’m a woman, I have a plan. I’m just asking on behalf of those who don’t and I don’t know why the people in these situations aren’t asking more themselves. They need to be prepared because the shit is shitting the fan.
Prayer is the solution for us all. I am praying for you and your foul mouth now.
If you aint ready, you fucked your own self.
I’m ready. I’m very curious what’s going to happen to those who had no chance to prepare. I was broke when I turned 18 and homeless. If shit had gone down then, I would be pissed if 40 year olds were telling me it’s my fault I wasn’t ready instead of just giving advice
Respect to you for making this thread.
Share what advice you have as well as asking others.
You were homeless at 18, how did you get out of that situation?
My advice to anyone reading this and worrying about what happens to them when shit hits the fan, would be to have a short term plan, medium term and if we're lucky, long term.
Get yourself out into the country, start a family, have lots of children and go and stock up RIGHT NOW with food and water that will last you a few months, you're going to eat anyway, so buy in bulk.
I would give the same advice you gave. That’s what I’ve been doing since I moved to Texas and I’m in my 20s now so I’ve actually had time to work, got to school, and establish my life. I feel for those who haven’t and are dealing with this. I got out of the situation by working my ass off.
That pretty much says it all, they have been saying for months to prepare.
you do realize like 90 percent of trump supporters are natural bug out preppers just by personality.
I don’t think so. I think country trump supporters are not seeing that his people are in the city as well. The people who walked away and making the transition into waking up and going to be thrown to the wolves because they didn’t know any better?

Yeah. that is a tough situation. The best advice I can give you is to manage your money lie Dave Ramsey. My husband and I typically try to keep our savings/assets in a useful state (house, guns, bullets, food, etc.) and only keep what's necessary in a fiat currency. You might look at joining a group of people in your community and trade your skills/labor for survival items.
Prepping is like any other insurance; you pay for it and hope you never have to use it. But when you do need it, make sure you didn't go with the cheapest policy around.
Well if you have nothing else at least have a skill set or a strong back. There will be many prepared communities that need manpower. If you have a pretty wife you could barter her or something as well.
So in order to give you a good answer, there are specifics that need to be known. What type of housing do you have? Where are you geographically located? Are you in a city, suburbs, or rural?
I’m good. I’m prepared. My question is a hypothetical about those who are in the worse situation. Broke (younger?), in the city, up north where it’s cold, etc.
The standard requirements for survival are the best plan. Secure Shelter. Secure Water. Secure Food. If you live in a cold climate, chances are you probably already are set, because winter is basically a dry run for the end of the world. If you live in a city, pack a bag with two changes of clothes, a pair of sturdy boots, food for a week, important documents, first aid kit, flashlight, and a map of your city and its surroundings
Knowledge is power. Start writing down knowledge (or printing it) on every subject you can think of. Fire starting methods, shelter construction, heliograph signaling, edible wild plants, the formula and process for making black powder, bows, arrows, knot-tying, water filtration, et cetera. You've got the collective knowledge of humanity at your fingertips now, use it and commit it to non-electronic storage ASAP.
I’m not in this situation. I’m prepared but I’m thinking about those who are not. If everyone has a different plan instead of coming together that’s a good way to no communication and more chaos.
If something happened right at this very minute, well... you'd pretty much be fucked. But aside from that here are a few things to keep in mind:
Come up with a plan. It doesn't have to be a super-detailed 152 step plan but at least have a framework you can fall back on in the event something does happen.
Remember the three important items for survival: water, shelter, food - in that order. Work on obtaining or learning a way to make water safe for drinking, then figure out a plan for shelter and finally food.
Have some medical supplies handy. Bandages, gauze, anti-septic items, pain killers, etc. None of this stuff is super expensive so it shouldn't be too hard to budget for. Also take some time and research basic medical treatments (how to make a tourniquet, how to stitch up a wound, how to set a broken bone, etc). Most of that can be done for-free on the internet.
Keep your vehicle fueled up and tuned up. If something bad happens and you need to be on the move in a hurry you won't have time to stop for gas because that's exactly what everyone else will be doing. Likewise, you may find that you need to travel a few hundred miles, can you confidently say your current vehicle make that trip without issue? If not, work on fixing that.
Have some form of self-defense. Everyone and their cat right now is saying "buy a gun and ammo". The hour for that is very late. Especially if you've never owned a gun before. But at least have something, a knife, club, bear spray, anything. If SHTF you can pretty much forget about anyone being around to save your ass so you're going to need to do it yourself.
Communication. This one's a bit further down the list but is still important. How are you going to communicate with the people you know and trust? There's a billion ways to attack this but have something. Even a set of cheap 2-way radios is better than nothing.
From the sound of it, time and money probably aren't on your side right now. But it's not hopeless and you can be prepared in a way that, even if you're not a help, you won't be a hinderance.
A hot water tank holds many gallons of water. In an emergency if water stations go do you can drain the tank as needed. For food, beans rice are the best bet, canned goods, anything that doesn’t require refrigeration. For defense obviously a gun and ammunition if you can afford or locate it to buy. Fallback weapons like a hatchet, machete or baseball bat are cheap and better than nothing.
Basic survival skills listed here, get maps of your area, and for water a good source is a distribution center for Coke or Pepsi. I used to work in a Coke DC and there is more than enough water stored there, just don't drink any Desani until 3 days passed the bottling date. DCs could be the first spots looted though.

Skill #1: Shelter Building Skill #2: Water Filtration and Purification Skill #3: Fire-Starting Skill #4: Self-Defense Skill #5: Basic First-Aid Skill #6: Outdoor Cooking Skill #7: Off the Grid Communication Skill #7: Knot-Tying Skill #8: Shooting a Gun Skill #9: Navigation and Orientation Skill #10: Finding Food and Water

POTUS told us all years ago to prepare, it's late to be worrying about that now.
If nukes pop there isn't much most of us can do except hope to be far enough away maybe. Depends on what is used and how, if I had to name it I'd guess a suitcase nuke or two, and only as the Enemy realizes it is losing.
But the Enemy WILL fight on the way out, correct. So prepare for an emergency type condition, as if after a bad storm. No power or infrastructure, no stores, on your own with just you and your immediate neighbors.
Store non perishable foods, beans and rice are cheap for instance. Store water or get filters, purification tabs. Have meds. Have the means to cook without power or utilities. Dig cat holes for sanitation if you must, do not use toilets if power is out.
Have battery radios, candles, a means of charging batteries and maybe computer or phone. Expect outages of everything, internet, cell towers, everything at least randomly.
Store wood for cooking and heating. Stock supplies as you can, especially food and water, blankets if you must. Arm yourself, be prepared to defend your Home.
CB and Ham radios are good choices for comms, or look for Flags and join with other Patriots in person. In person is how we will have to do this if it devolves down to Revolution, trust no media or large group. Use your local churches for gatherings and Fellowship, don't be afraid to ask for help if needed, and don't be afraid to lead if that seems lacking. If you need strength ask, someone will loan it, if you have strength lend it, someone will need it.
I grew up on the Texas coast, we dodged a lot of hurricanes, we learned long ago to stay prepared. Have rope, duct tape, pulleys, saws, axes, tools... have a Plan, be sure your Family understands the Plan. Such things as how to meet up or help each other, where you might run to if pushed out, a meeting place or drop spot.
Talk to your neighbors, know who might need help and see to it.
Each of us may have varying experiences. 'I' will simply hunker down here in Texas, behind strong walls, with a water supply and foods and ammo and plans to help other Family get out of town and out here, if need be. I will communicate in person at church or the VFW hall or the American Legion Post or on the boat ramp...
I am not alone, there are probably millions like me, we have planned and prepared some, we 'may' have more than we need and will share. If you need us holler, if we hear you we will answer. If you see my Flag and need help COME get it..
But prepare as you can, you have little time left probably. We were told years ago precisely so we would have time, most of us are not wealthy just prudent, we spent that time slowly preparing. Good luck.
Pray for Humanity.
