The reality is most people can’t afford a bunker with a generator and all that survival stuff. If we are hit with a nuke by China or suddenly none of us have electricity, water, transportation, communication. People always say “just get money and get prepared.” That’s not helpful. What is the realistic advise for those who only has about $500 in the bank and something happens suddenly? How will we communicate? How will we heat ourselves in the winter for those that aren’t in the south ? If we were hit now with no warning or time to prepare, how would you react? Where is someone supposed to go if they don’t have family? What about conservatives in the city? What should people do if they can’t afford a gun or restricted to buy one because of where they live? I feel bad for Gen Z teens who want to be prepared but they have liberal parents setting them up for failure, I don’t want these kids to be thrown to the wolves. We are not prepared. Edit: I’m not asking for myself. I’ve been watching prepping shows for years. I’m asking for the people in this situation because we all know they exist. I’ve seen others ask and they get a non answer of “just get prepared”

A hot water tank holds many gallons of water. In an emergency if water stations go do you can drain the tank as needed. For food, beans rice are the best bet, canned goods, anything that doesn’t require refrigeration. For defense obviously a gun and ammunition if you can afford or locate it to buy. Fallback weapons like a hatchet, machete or baseball bat are cheap and better than nothing.
