Moving the Capitol to somewhere like Wichita, Kansas would not only make traveling easier & fairer - it would also be a great economic boon for 'fly-over' states and make more sense from a defense standpoint, an army could theoretically land right on the doorstep of every branch of the US government - or bomb/nuke it in one fell swoop.
Continuity of government would be much easier if some of the targets were 1200mi inland. Someone on conspiracies.win pointed out to me that buildings could even be moved entirely, piece-by-piece (Just the historic stonework to save money, put in new internals designed with the future/defense in mind).
It could help prevent corruption - just amend the constitution to dissolve the district of Columbia (returning the land to Maryland & Virginia) & make a new district.
No. What really needs to happen is the destruction of the Senior Executive Service. Force ALL government employees to take a skills test every 4 years and move to a new department at a higher level or be fired. This will keep the power of the deepstate bureaucracy down.
No statehood for DC
