He was writing in highly fictionalized form about the Soviet Union and other communist shitholes in 1948. Get it? They used to teach this with the book in middle school. It wasn't prescient. It was already happening and he observed it.
This is it. We stopped teaching this here, and those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it. This wasn’t a vision of the future, it was a fictionalized journal of his present, to warn against the cycle repeating.
Read the gulag archipelago if you want the non-fiction version of 1984.
That big brother tv crap was an early warning. I couldn't believe how many people got sucked in to that crap and not ever knowing where the phrase came from. I have NEVER watched it.
100% this is correct. It was, of course, highly fictionalized.
If you want to read the gulag archipelago or the little black book on communism, you will see true stories of what was happening then in Russia. It's not as pretty as 1984. It will make you puke.
I read many first hand accounts and even met with former political prisoners from Romania. Too bad many of these books are not translated into English. One of the brainwashing and reeducation experiments in the Pitesti prison was described by the author of the Gulag Archipelagias "the most terrible act of barbarism in the contemporary world."
We're already beginning the process of reliving it here and now. People should definitely read it though as a preview of coming attractions. Totalitarianism always follows the same pattern.
Also, if you don't already own them, buy a PHYSICAL copies of 1984, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, and the Bible (among others). I think they will try to erase all of these before long, deeming them dangerous.
It's funny how these people openly brag about their plans. Like alex jones says. He's not some great psycic or has all the secrets he uncovered himself. No. He just actually listens to these people and takes them seriously. It's not that miraculous.
He was British Intelligence, not psychic. He knew what the plan was and used a fake name to warn us.

It's disgraceful that we no longer include this book in basic English curriculum early and with context.
It’s criminal neglect at best and malicious brainwashing at worst to deny young minds the truth about communism.

I had no idea that Orwell had said background. Informative dialogue on that. Thanks.
Well, the Marxists in the education clearly don't want children to be taught the truth about communism.
I have never heard of this book. Thank you for introducing it to me.
It’s a heavy but captivating read to slog through, and it’s 2 volumes. Defined worth it, it’s one of those life-changing books.

Have done and yes, not for those with more delicate sensibilities. But worth doing nonetheless.
I just ordered it last week. Not looking forward to reading it at all, and I've been putting it off, but I feel I must.
not very highly fictionalized IMO.
We could go back to the times of "Snitches get stitches" and start giving these people the discipline their parents failed to
She's radioactive now. Everyone around her should know not to get within a mile of her. No loyalty; she could turn on anyone. Avoid avoid avoid.
Just like Atlas Shrugged, except she experienced it.
The shit I took in the 1980s for being her fan. But she was right about everything.
A Brave New World.. The Island is another great Huxley novel about human conditioning
Wake me up when it’s time to play minecraft, or orgy porgy, whichever comes first.
Yeah I’ve always been a big fan of ABNW. Huxley and Orwell would write to each other about their books.
exactly. But the "highly fictionalized" would be better worded as "based on real events".

Buckle up.
Farenheit 451 is I think closest to what is happening here
Pirated copies of all of them are easy to find, online, as ebooks.
But buying physical books is not a bad thing, either.
I have the audiobook on my phone and read by my favorite narrator, Frank Muller. You can find it on youtube and download it.
Got them a year or so ago. Glad I found a comment recommending them on Computing Forever (who just got gulaged by Youtube).
Also a member and then critic of the Fabian Society. They are the cabal
Part of it. Private Foundations, in conglomerate, are the cabal.
