With online exchanges and cryptocurrencies, websites require photo proof of ID. There is no reason at all it can't be done to porn - Those "are you under 18" checkboxes are a joke.
I just think that we need to raise our kids right, with the same Christian values that we had back when this nation was a beacon to the entire world, not... whatever the shit it is today.
The fact is you're dealing with a cartel who is targeting your children with a highly addictive, mind-altering substance. We learned from Prohibition and The Drug War that you can't stop something like this by just outright banning it.
Learn from history - we beat tobacco for a reason. Let's use those tactics, not ones that don't work.
Rules and regulations are just going to be broken. Adding more rules will not fix anything. However, if you instead raised kids such that they wouldn't even have the desire to do something, you wouldn't even need a rule preventing it.
I think this should apply to more than just porn as well, like drugs for example. If kids were raised with proper values and knowledge about them, they likely would make much better choices when it comes to substances. None of this "weed is as bad as heroin" crap that just leads to someone trying weed and thinking hmm this isn't bad, and then later trying heroin thinking they were lied to about that as well. Instead teach fact based information with pros and cons of each substance, proper safety, etc.
Knowledge of actions and their consequences, along with the proper view of right and wrong would do so much more than flat out rules stating you can or can't do this or that.
It's an argument I have against actual, genuine, good Christians all the time. That their own experiences with ruinous desires and drives in the past cause them to pull back far too hard in the opposite direction. My stepdad, for instance, was a sleep around druggo in his younger days. Now he's perhaps the best man I've ever met (don't tell him I said that, he's also got a big head,) though still flawed, naturally. But some of his dealings with my brothers and sister as he raised them was too strict, causing them to try and break the reins, which in many ways they did, and in many ways they're still now suffering from those bad youthful decisions. Me, however, I've always been naturally middle of the road introspective.
It's like, if every single thing that a kid does wrong is the most severe sin you could imagine... why think that the things that are big wrong are any more wrong than the small wrong? "Dad, I was home five minutes late" should not be a fight. It should be "Well, next time I want you home by 9:30, not 10. If you can get home by 9:30, we can go back to 10." Shoot, maybe even warn that WILL BE what happens next time. Maybe establish beforehand that 5 minutes late due to traffic is okay, but then that 6 minutes late is actually LATE late, and not "one minute late." You have to be rational and reasonable. Home 5 minutes late is disobedience, yes, maybe wilful, maybe neglectful. But if you go straight to "you're grounded for a month," because you assume that your kid is getting stoned with some whore, well, you're making yourself the enemy, and your kid is going to want to do the things that damage the enemy... which may just be getting stoned with some whore.
There was a quote carved into the local indoctrination center by my old house, which was ironic in its presence, but it was put there generations ago, when people thought. It said that an Educated People are Easy to Govern but Impossible to Rule. And this is what we need. People who are educated in the truth, and in rationality and thinking. Who can hear the plans of their government, and when those plans make sense say "Okay, I assent to that, because it is in the good of the nation," and when those plans propose the kind of oppression and failure that always lead to untold death, say "No, we will not be doing that, and you must now resign or face the wrath of the populace."
Same with kids. When you have kids who understand the consequences of an action or a philosophy, you can say to them "Be home by 10," or "I had friends like that when I was younger, and they led me to do things that hurt me in the long run," or "That girl has Herpes, it's right on her face there, you need to start hanging around with better, or at least smarter, girls," and your kid can go "Well, I disagree, but I understand my lack of experience can not trump your life of experience, so I will defer to that wisdom."
Definitely needs photo ID. Anyone young enough may "imprime" off of what they see, meaning they will be attracted to that for the rest of their lives. Animals raised in captivity tend to do this wrong as well if they only have human caretakers.
I'm not positive that giving copies of everyone's photo IDs to a bunch of websites that likely have no idea when it comes to proper security practices is a good idea.
I can already imagine the headlines now. "Such and such porn sites got hacked! Millions of users Driver's Licenses leaked, including histories of videos watched!"
