I've told some friends that I don't talk politics with them personally and then don't give a reason why. If they ask if I'm not discussing politics at all, I confirm that I do discuss politics with some, but will not with them. Trust me, it's the best way.
Fuck that. I make them not want to talk about it with me. Every time they hit me with some lefty bullshit, I logically deconstruct their argument and help them understand that they are victims of propaganda. Then I kindly guide them to the truth. Day or two later I send non politically biased links if I can find them
Yup, I'm the friend you call when something isn't working. You need help roofing your house? Got electrical issues? Car issues? I will use my knowledge to help you. If you then turn around and think because you went to college you know more than me about life you can get fucked and pay someone $80/hr + and I will help those who don't have a superiority complex.
I know exactly what you mean. My best friends (at the time) cousin long ago always used to talk politics with me before the whole Trump thing and I never realized until now why we always used to argue. Now I know! Looking back I realize she was always hating on capitalism saying how materialistc the world is and needs to change, I'd tell her if you want to change the world it starts with changing oneself and she'd get pissed and throw a fit! And every time I'd challenge her (she told me loves discussion...) she would never explain her logic but always say to me "read this book, and that book, and do this course and watch this video BEFORE you even discuss this topic to me" I'm like... why can't you just explain it in your words instead of pointing me to someone else? Always would bring up "well I go to this university and do speeches and stuff so I know how the world works more than you". People like that lol just ain't worth the time. Needless to say I ditched that entire group of "friends". Glad to be here also, keep fighting the good fight! You have our support here in Australia (or what's left of it haha)
