I'm questioning that they have authority over the public school system, that would seem to be the State that does.

Illinois schools are run by Local school districts, not the state. It's how my sisters 3 kids in the town 10 min north are attending full time in school learning while mine are doing hybrid.

So Chicago could enforce that teachers who don't show up wont get paid, but that wouldn't be applicable to say Springfield, IL?

It would seem though, that with Chicago being almost solely the area that Illinois votes blue, if THEY are willing to enforce this, the rest of this State surely is as well.

I think, basically, the State was fine with all the turmoil, EVEN people literally losing their lives and livelihoods to lockdown just to rile up THEIR base because THEIR winning was so much more important than serving the country -- they just wanted to serve THEIR voters at literally the cost of EVERYONE else, but NOW they know they HAVE to get back to work. Thing is, the teachers all have jobs to go back to -- THEY were always safe. THE PEOPLE -- not at all!

You are 100% correct, and to add to the madness teachers never stopped getting paid even when schools were shut down.
