A lot of people seem to forget that even evil believes it is good. People like Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Guevarra, they all believed what they were doing was good and that whatever they did was justified.
The people who perpetrate the evils in this world believe they are doing a good thing. The road to hell... You know the saying. They use concepts to justify their doing; "the common good" is a typical one. I believe they have mostly convinced themselves what they are doing is good. What is most surprising is that the normies do not see through it.
How could anyone with a brain claim to be a "democratic socialist" and own 3 large homes? Anyone who is moderately clever and has ever looked into a mirror will see the hypocrisy of it and sell off the homes and dress like the Dalai Lama. How could AOC claim to be for workers rights, but at the same time refuse Amazon the movement of HQ to NY, which would have brought tens of thousands of well paid jobs directly and many tens of thousands of jobs indirectly? And this all because she misunderstood how taxes work?
There are people capable of this type of self-reflection, but alas, not many exist among the Democrats, who are mostly virtue-signalling imho.
We used to have a view into the future, our own future. It was generally positive and filled wiht hope. Now we are faced with the real possibility that in 9 days, things will change. Not only for the US, but for most of the world. Add the lockdowns, the virus, the uncertainty regarding the vaccines and it is only normal to be confused and depressed. We have no idea where we are going and this is very troubling.
I try to trust in nothing but my own strength and ability to adapt. Whenever I feel down I go for a long walk or ride a bike for a few hours to clear my head. It helps a lot. I have a few friends to rely on, but mostly I have a small family to take care of, which motivates me to look forward and face what is coming.
Also, less alcohol and going to bed a little earlier helps me a great deal ;-)
A movement that is all about a leader is a cult. I am not in it for the leader. I want my freedoms and I just want to be left alone. I want to be isolated from psychopaths in government. That is all I ask for. Donald J. Trump or someone else; there will be people to lead. It is not about the person for me.
You think these people care about a constitution? I live in Eastern Europe and we have been through similar processes. The constitution dissappears once the three branches no longer care about it.
