I am hoping that people could explain this for me. Ben Shapiro has his own network, mark levin is on the blaze and bongino is on something separate from those two. Are they actually owned by a parent company or are they truly on their own. Am just confused by this.
Not dead. Has too much debt from rapid consolidation / buying competitors... hence vulnerable... but a lot of people still listen to radio. It still can make money if your not servicing tons of debt.
The people own their individual outlets like you detailed. All also have syndicated radio shows. This threat is coming from the company that syndicates the radio broadcast.
It's complicated. Levin is signed to a deal with Westwood One, which is a subsidiary of Cumulous Media. His show is probably licensed to TheBlaze, as Westwood syndicates his show.
That's the entertainment business, a rat's nest of contracts, syndications, and licenses.

Cumulus Media is terrestrial radio- AM/FM Broadcast. They have a lot of listeners to their talk show offerings. Broadcast radio is dead.
Thank you, that clears it up
