I'm looking to further educate myself on the history of propaganda so that I can help teach others what to look out for. Has anyone read any good books about propaganda and it's use you could recommend?

propaganda is just marketing with a government skin. I would just use the classical fictional books, most were written by people that lived through it. I like Atlas Shrugged myself, it does a good job at showing how rational and reasonable they can act and sound while doing it.

Look for stuff from the Institute for Propaganda Analysis. It was set up after people felt fucked over by WW1. Then it quietly disappeared when they used the same tricks all over again for WW2.

Don’t know specific books but I’d look at propaganda used during the Cold War and also during the age of Hitler. Both of these are very intriguing when talking about propaganda.
