Not to piss on the Pede parade here but the VP is an elected office, not a cabinet position. Trump can’t replace Pence any more than he could Pelosi.

When Agnew resigned as VP, Ford was appointed. No election was held.

Right - what I am saying is that Trump does not have to power to remove Pence. If Pence vacates the office then that’s a different story, but whoever is appointed would need a majority vote from the (now Democrat controlled) House and Senate.
