Thought about this while watching Antebellum. I had to explain to my purple pilled gf why Get Out was awesome, Us was good and Antebellum wasn’t. And had to explain thoroughly why it had nothing to do with my political views. Get Out is a masterpiece in psychology, relatable characters, rational fear and believable characters. Antebellum was an idea filled with a bunch of depthless characters, insane villains, and unearned payoffs.

Also thought about this while playing Last of Us 2. It’s the opposite problem. As much cap tipping as possible in a great story. Only problem was the obvious shoehorning in of a sperm donor for the lesbians to have a child, only to kill that guy off.
