As it stands, soon enough you'd know someone's political affiliation by what they are wearing, where they are shopping and what phone/apps they are using. Voluntarists are capitalists that believe in voluntary trade of captital for goods and services in a free market. Unlike socialism and communism where all goods, services and capital are taken at gunpoint and then redistributed by the government.
The two sides are too close to each other for any kind of war for supremacy, any victory would be a pyrrhic one for either side, so if God forbid there is a shooting war, it would be to settle contested areas between the two countries rather than to rule over all of the USA.

Their sizes are comparable so none can crush the other completely, and there is not will whatsoever on either side bridge the divide, so what else is there?
