Notice too that McConnell met w Cotton over that weekend and Cotton shocked us all that he decided to back out from joining Hawley and Cruz?

Think about it. Hawley Cruz and Cotton were the three most pro Trump senators who all would be top tier candidates for 2024. Of the three, Cotton is easily the most traditional conservative type that the establishment would promote and protect, while Hawley is a populist and Cris is a firebrand.

They held back cotton to keep him clean while muddying up Crux and Hawley.

Just my opinion.
