The passengers knew the hostage takers were coordinated and slamming planes into buildings like a cruise missile, and they were likely to die anyway in the process of killing countless others. They fought so hard our countries enemies had to crash the plane for fear of them overrunning them and gaining control. Those people saved a lot of lives and american honor and prestige.
He was a regular guy just like you and me, all of the passengers were. Strangers but together they resolved to fight to the death. Many others would have succumb to terror and spent their last minutes in panick in their seat wishing they did something. They chose to stand and fight for what they believe in -even knowing they would die. Because it was the right thing to do.
These people lived more in the last few moments of their lives than most people do in a lifetime.
