Having spent 11 years in the national guard I would say it depends on which state they are from but many were more patriaotic than the soldiers I served with when I was active duty
My experience with NG was that they were older and once deployed were a little more squared away. Most are there for a few extra bucks and tuition assistance.
I served in a national guard band, where you'd think soy boys abound. There were some for sure but not nearly as many as you'd think there would be. It was still a majority of conservatives.
Are you sure it's that high? It's national guard not regular military I bet they have a higher percentage of soy boys

I was NG. They won't give guns to the soy boy mos' only MP and infantry mos. They would have had to qualify recently too.
