His business interests were on the rocks and his debts were well ahead of his assets. The don was walking along a street with her and pointed out a homeless guy. " He's got more money than we do right now." I didn't get the impression he said it out of self pity but to point out to her that being dressed fancy and stepping out of a limo didn't necessarily put them ahead of a homeless guy.
She also mentioned learning about her parents divorce from the radio. Naive yes, but not about public life or the media.
