My Mother would get pissed, because she would catch me digging all the way down with my hands and freak out, as Mother's are prone to do about that sorta thing......then she complained the box was bent out of shape and wouldn't fit back into the cabinet....:)
LOL. I tried it once too, and the cereal went EVERYWHERE, then of course, my Mother stepped on some of it later that I had missed picking up, and was not a happy woman....
Of course she would shriek "Who did this?!"....my brother and I would remain silent like two criminals being interrogated under a lamp....until my younger brother would break and point to me....ah, childhood.

My would bitch cause we would rip bag and the cereal would get stale, that and we would open them all. Good times.
I still can hear some of the cereal commercial jingles in the 70's and early 80's in my head. (I'm an older Gen Xer.)
Mine would be from the 80's when the came out with mario bros cereal, and barbie. Tasted like shit but hey it had a all important toy!
The cereal was always incidental to the crappy prize that seemed to drive all kids nuts to get....
