The national guard is under the complete control of the president. The governor can deploy them.
But the President at anytime can take control over those units. Governors act like a commander. But the President is the commander and chief.
That being said, If Trump didn't want the national guard they wouldn't be. There is ~15,000 soldiers in DC ( not fucking normal ) the only reason why they would be there is if Trump wants them there. Trump wouldn't designate an emergency in DC if it wasn't in his favor.
Anyone who claims to be close to the president who hasn't back stabbed him says he will be president for the next four years. Anyone who claims that has been silenced to include the Q people.
One thing I know is Trump seems to always have a Plan. I have faith he does and I'll follow that plan.

What if Trump was bullied into this like the lady who released the transition funds to Biden was bullied to comply to their demand.
If the fake 3 letters agencies gave Trump fake intel then Trump will have no choice but to play along.

I hate how many people on this platform look at these observations from a confirmation bias perspective. Perhaps Trump made a deal? Unlikely, but not impossible. Perhaps Trump doesn't want the inauguration for Biden to be screwed up by protests/riots? These are plausible reasons for a military presence.
People need to think outside the box. Just because Trump approved or authorized does not mean that it will be for arresting people.
I still think Trump has a plan but we also have to understand that military presence could mean a plethora of things.
If I were a betting man I would argue that Trump's likely plan is to become a media powerhouse in conflict with the main stream media. This would give him or his sons or someone he favors a platform to run in 2024.
The problem is that nothing has been or will be done about election fraud. But we can attack that at the state level. Protests, running for SOS etc in an attempt to block fraudulent election tactics.
