We should prematurely split the US in half. The left get most of the west side and the right get most of the east. I guarantee the left democrat side would fail very quickly.

No, we split along the lines of red states vs blue states. Red states are pretty much one solid continuous land mass, blue states would separate into three separate countries.

The Federal Government would be set up to buy any property of anyone switching sides at fair market value. There would be a 6 month transition period so people could move and then the divorce would be complete.
