Dude, I've been saying this from Jan 6th; it just seems implausible that Trump didn't catch on sooner that Pence was corrupt. The two have been thick as thieves throughout their first term, i just don't see Pence actually backstabbing him.

I could see this being part of a counter-intelligence operation where the deep state wasn't sure if pence was on their side or not. Pence turning his back on Trump would be enough to vet him with the deep state and perhaps they would let him in on some interior workings of the deep state.. enough to confirm suspicions and paint a target for the insurrection act.
