He might been on fentanyl, high as a kite, swallowed more drugs than he could handle BUT an officer must weigh in everything when holding down a person. Mistakes can be made but a 7 or was it 14 minutes hold down of a person who clearly can't breath properly is misconduct. Police job is to save lives if not attacked by deadly force. I prepare for downvotes but we aren't monsters.
The man died, he was not suppose to die. But four guys held him down while he was heavily intoxicated. It would be the wrong thing even if he only had alcohol in his blood. He could have had an heart condition so no violence more than necessary. They had him down, arms tide on his back, a hold down with the hand or knee in the back would have been enough. I seen the video and i see four officer struggling with one man. I say the police has as bad technique as a white belt in karate school. Floyd incident kick started month of rioting.
What do you mean he wasn't supposed to die? What is suppose to happen when someone swallows lethal amounts of fenty? Death is the logical outcome.
He did have heart disease. One artery was 75% blocked and the other was 95% blocked. He died of heart failure after kicking his way out of the cop car in a drug induced fit.
He did the same thing in 2019. He was stopped by police and swallowed his bag of drugs to avoid charges which resulted in him overdosing and being rushed to the hospital. This time, the ambulance went to the wrong address and was late in arriving and so they couldn't prevent his overdose from killing him.
That is all true. All of it. I know. While the police kneeling on his neck, he gurgling I can't breath. People around alerted that the man was dying, the officer smiling and not paying attention to the fact. It was a choice made by the officer to keep kneeling, even when Floyd was out he kept the knee on the neck. Somewhere between the last I can breath and the ambulance came there should been a realization from the officer something wasn't right. He failed to do so and that is no accident.
This has been my stance all along. Dude was an idiot and his death sucks but it ultimately lies on him. However, I watched the full videos over and over and I ultimately came to a conclusion that at a certain point the dude needed help and they should have let off him. I just ask myself how I would feel as I lay dying and someone had their knee on my neck pushing me to the ground. That is a terrible way to go. No the cops shouldn't be charged, but they should be trained to show more empathy if they think someone is in a life or death situation, and those cops saw that something was not right.
If I had to implement change, I would issue every cop a rope or chain that they can loop around the handcuffs and then connect it to the rim of their vehicle wheel. That way you don't have to forcefully restrain them until medics arrive, and they can't go anywhere or do anything.
I think they have the training they need. My thinking is that they see so much travesty each day that they get numb. I think they lose sympathy and understanding that everyone has a unique personal problem and responds differently. So sit on a person might sometimes be the most effective way and sometimes the most deadly. The cops weren't out to kill him and should get a murder charge, but I do believe they pushed him over the cliff. I think he would be alive if it wasn't for that knee but the officer neglected Floyd's situation on the ground. That was a crime and not an accident.

His light restrain had nothing to do with his death. The cop did as he was trained.
People like you who operate on emotions not facts are why the cities burned.

If a 10 minute video of black man chained to a car was released, every ghetto in America would burn.
You are a fool.

How does restraining a guy cause an overdose? Nobody neglected Floyd. They called for an ambulance twice. It went to the wrong location.
Its a chain of unfortunate happenings. And not getting that man into a car was a farce. I've seen the video. Their technique must be better.
