I’m reading animal farm to my 11 year old nephew this week. I had forgotten that the reason the animals overthrew the farmer was because he had been neglecting them and they were all hungry. Then I thought about all the people who have been pushed into poverty by these bullshit Covid lockdowns, and once again I reminded that our enemies foreign and domestic want us to have a civil war or communist revolution.

On a better note though, when I was reading the part about the animals making a flag, my nephew pointed out that their flag must look like the hammer and sickle, then he said something about “communists” and “100% taxation.” I think my sister is doing a good job raising him.

Good uncle! And good sister!

My sister would crucify me if I read that to my 12 yo nephew

Maybe she doesn't have to know. You could forget your copy at her house. You have to make the book sound mysterious or interesting in some way that makes you nephew want to sneak it and read it tho.

I’ve thought about that, but he’s such a mommas boy that he can’t keep a secret from her. It’s tough to do my job as an uncle from 2000 miles away!

Is she trying to shelter him? Or is she a commie?

2000 miles is a lot of miles... but I'm sure you can figure out a way to keep being a MAGA uncle!

A Karen science teacher who is one of those “SCIENCE!” People. It’s tough to describe her beyond that, but not a commie. Just very overprotective.

OK. One thing about Karens is that they are fine as long as you defer to their authority. So, you could probably just ask her about giving the book to him and she might say yes. Also, there is a graphic novel version of it now. I haven't seen the whole graphic version, so I can't say if it's appropriate or not or may have weird art. But it exists, which is cool. Yay capitalism!

Some protests are better than other protests. Peace.

It made me happy when I saw that 1984 is the top seller on Amazon books this week. It gave me hope that a lot of people are red pilled, but it also was scary that so many others are seeing the same things I am seeing and are coming to the same conclusions.

ew. I did tell him about how people sneak into the US illegally because it is so awesome to be here, and that in most communist countries you are not allowed to leave. Except China will let you out, but they will kill your family if you don't go back or if you do things they don't like. He was appropriately horrified.
