It was absolutely a setup. It's a yuge testament to Trump supporters that the building is still standing, all the leaders fucking bailed and the people policed themselves. Ivory fucking ropes, rIoTeRs on a tour. Cop cars suffered an insane amount of vandalism in the form of 6 bumper stickers. A lectern was stolen. Oh, some plywood was moved and portable fencing was commandeered. Windows busted out but I certainly wouldn't trust those guys, they don't look like pedes. People were cleaning up trash ffs because there weren't enough trash cans but everyone brought garbage bags because they expected to clean up after themselves...
Idk, I think most people's plans were literally 1. Get inside, 2. ??? They all wanted to get in there and yell and feel like they did something but there was no connection to an outcome, everyone was just really really angry and wandering around looking for purpose.
