You should be in a panic over this. Impeaching Trump so he can't run again is them taking away your vote. It is a genuine act of fascism to ban your opponent from running rather than to allow the people to decide democratically.

The Senate can't hold a trial, it would start at 1pm on Jan 20th at the earliest based on Senate rules, but they can't impeach a private citizen (unless you count that Secretary from President Grant that resigned right before and they impeached him anyway). And that might be the point- tarnish Trump with an "impeachment" that doesn't have a trial that exonerates him afterward. Pettiness we would expect from the TDS afflicted.

Pelosi asked the JCS to remove Trump's nuclear/military authority (they refused)
Pelosi tried to get Pence and others to 25th Amendment (incapacity) Trump.
Not thes act of somebody who isn't really worried.
They simply need to utterly destroy the man. This. no longer has anything to do with Trump. This has to do with any future Trump. They need to make an example out of him to ensure no other outsider ever tries to come along and take down the swamp again.
Not to mention that they have nothing to worry about in 2024 because they'll cheat again if this mess doesn't get cleaned up, so the whole 'it's to keep him from running in 2024' doesn't hold water either....they're definitely terrified!
