Gab was a grassroots movement for Patriots at first. They went through many challenges and came out the winner.
Parler just... appeared. And got magically accepted and stayed in app stores despite Gab being thrown out. So to me that would tell me someone on the left likes it too until Trump joined it.
Also consider Minds. Minds was more of an artsy place to start but soon became more aliens, then more MAGA. Now it’s a mishmash of all that.
I joined Parler early last year because it looked more attractive to me lol. I'm guessing that's part of the reason why it became more popular than Gab over time. That and the fact Gab has a bad reputation due to constant attacks by the MSM.
Gab is much better imo. It's way easier to find groups and non-political communities. The interface is also a lot easier to use. It has better security, and it's more robust since it's been here a lot longer. Parler requires you to verify your identity (by posting your ID) to be able to chat with other members whereas Gab does not.
Yeah gab is much better once you get out of free speech, the other groups are better, I think the crazies in the free speech are just leftovers from when the MSM called gab a racist haven, like they always do XD
