I also read this on ga.win "Someone posted something about changing the EAS ringtone and I went looking for mine on my Samsung Galaxy S20. You can't change the sound but you can make it silent - which I've never done.". Lots of people confirmed that their EAS ringtone was set to silent by the latest update. Maybe Lin Wood isn't that crazy after all? Only time will tell.
Holy shit Pede, I just looked at my Samsung, which just took an update a few days ago. First I could not find the setting in any of the standard settings, I know in the past I don't recall ever seeing the setting. So I used my search, EBS doesn't bring anything up, but when I type in Emergency it brought up the setting. Mine is set to 'silent' as well.
I know for a fact that the last Amber Alert sent my phone lit up.
Anyone know if there's anything like this for iPhones? Yes, I have one, don't hound me about it. I turned off auto updates and haven't updated to iOS 14.3 which I think is the latest version. People think they'll disable EAS with update. Is there a way to make sure it's not silenced as well? I still get Amber alerts though.
