I do this. The product is usually cheaper too. But doing this you find out how corrupt the USPS was in cutting their shipping price for Bezos.

64
donjongun 64 points ago +64 / -0 (edited)

USPS actually loses money on all of the packages and last mile deliveries they do for Amazon, so it's more Jeff Bezos being corrupt. They also teamed up with USPS initially to do this so they could steal their logistics and routes so they could train their employees and AI to pretty much do the job themselves so they no longer need USPS. USPS is just cucked and stuck inbetween a rock and hard place.

Absolutely! The Post Office was truly ripped off literally and figuratively by Amazon!

FLatino 12 points ago +15 / -3

Thanks for your service as a government employee. You must have put up with all kinds of government bs for years.

20
MikelovesTrump 20 points ago +22 / -2

Are you thanking someone for working at the Post Office? Those are the most over paid and laziest motherfuckers on the planet.

The real workers are the rural contractors who deliver the mail in small towns. Play is straight dogshit and they get the privlage of driving their own car and beating the shit out of it.

7
donjongun 7 points ago +7 / -0

Lmao, you're honestly not wrong. Some of the people that I had the "pleasure" of working with at the PO were some of the laziest, most entitled, and insufferable cunts I've ever met.

I worked harder than everyone I worked with which ultimately burnt me out. They do not reward hard work.

16
Nearlydearly2 16 points ago +16 / -0

True. I sell on Amazon, but items are cheaper on my website.

3
DebbieinDallas 3 points ago +3 / -0

Thanks for the info. Why Amazon instead of ebay???

2
Nearlydearly2 2 points ago +2 / -0

I sold on ebay too, but their charges were increasing, the sales were infrequent, and it didn't sync easily with my shopify account.

90% of my sales are on Amazon. Unfortunately thats the marketplace right now. And I can get sales there with little to no advertising expense since my product is on the first page for certain search criteria.

DebbieinDallas 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thanks

Amazon forces small sellers to have same price on their website as on Amazon. Many ignore it, but some who don't usually provide a coupon (or you get one later when you leave goods in your cart and do not order), so this is also way to get your product cheaper.

33
blitzkrieg 33 points ago +33 / -0

I do this often now. Like bestbuy used to be the showroom for amazon, now amazon is the virtual showroom for the company. Many time the product is cheaper, too. Might take a few extra days for shipping, but who cares? :)

9
CgMaui 9 points ago +10 / -1

Oddly, shipping is usually faster by almost 4-5 days where I live.

4
Khalaris 4 points ago +4 / -0

Where do you live? Maui, like in your name?

My niece is 5. She can get my husband to do anything she wants.

20
86_stretchen 20 points ago +20 / -0

Use amazon as a search engine and leave all the items in your cart- then search for the item on alt sites or direct from the maker. This screws up amazons logistics.

Better yet find supplier and say that you don't support Amazon and would buy their product if they stopped working with them.

13
Tallsie 13 points ago +13 / -0

Then actually buy their product. Don’t be a leftist about this...

11
jdur 11 points ago +11 / -0

Telling a company that you oppose amazon is called the free market. A leftist would shame the company on twitter for being racist when they were never going to buy the product at all.

I showed my wife and kids how to fo this last night. Its like they are convinced that amazon is the only shopping website in the world. I showed my wife some sheets that she just bought were actually cheaper buying from the seller and the shipping was free. I saw the lightbulb light up.

Many companies put stuff in the packages to encourage you to buy direct.

12
MAGA124 12 points ago +12 / -0

I use amazon for their reviews to see if a product is worth buying. I then buy it elsewhere, even if it means paying a higher price.

9
Ophelia 9 points ago +9 / -0

I’m realizing that like everything else the reviews are fake

4
jdur 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yep google/amazon super sellers can easily challenge and win any negative review and even block it from being posted

1
MAGA124 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep that in mind.

10
ProdigalPlaneswalker 10 points ago +10 / -0

Does Amazon have an app?

Because, at this point, I assume the majority of their customers don't know how to use a web browser.

7
CgMaui 7 points ago +7 / -0

One? No. They have several in the top 100.

9
Smurfection 9 points ago +9 / -0

I've been doing this for years. I go directly to the retailer or ask a local retailer to stock the item for me. The thing is, the left doesn't want any stores outside of big box retailers to exist. They don't want ma and pa shops because their corporate donors want to hire illegals and smash the small and midsized competition.

8
hungryfreaksdaddy 8 points ago +8 / -0

That was always the goal of the coronavirus lockdowns.

6
Smurfection 6 points ago +6 / -0

I do think you're right but given Biden's speech the other day, I think there's a more nefarious goal too. I think they want to destroy all small and midsized businesses because they think those business are owned by white men and conservatives. They want to destroy those business and give business loans to "minorities" because they think it's more fair. The whole point of destroying gyms, restaurants, etc is so that minorities will get all the start up loans and establish their own businesses in those locations. This is part of what they mean when they say we need a reset to a more "just and equitable" society with a more "fair equitable distribution". Since they can't do this by simply seizing the businesses and giving them to minorities, they're making a mechanism by which the same result is achieved. it won't work but I think that's what they're trying to do.

7
AussiesForTrump 7 points ago +7 / -0

Fuck Amazon, support family businesses.

7
HocusLocus 7 points ago +7 / -0 (edited)

Even if the product is Chinese.

I'm referring specifically to Baofeng handie-talkie radios, ~131-174 and ~400-500Mhz. Roughly $40 each and though they are a pain to program they are functional. It is time to obtain as many as you can afford for what is to come. Look for packages where a pair of them are sold along with 110V/12V chargers, extended time batteries, dual and single band antennas, programming cable (and CHIRP software)... for under $100.

Of course, no one is going to flood the airwaves and transmit illegally and create a babbling storm on the airwaves. Just to have.

SORRY present day amateur radio manufacturers. The last US manufacturers went belly-up in the days of discrete components. You (US hams) gave the market away to the Japanese and the Koreans without a fight. Then you failed to successfully pass the hobby down to your children until every radio became a Boutique Item loaded with ever more fancy features. Baofeng saw a market gap a mile wide and they drove into it. Bless them..

You want to have at least six fully functional HT units. For the price of ONE SINGLE Boutique (well made sure but what the fuck) radio you have one for every menber of your family, and spares.

1
RabidZoo 1 point ago +2 / -1

Do you possibly have a link for that package? I can't find a set with all those features/hardware...

2
HocusLocus 2 points ago +2 / -0

Sorry, no links. I am not a salesman. What I have are "BaoFeng UV-5RM 8-Watt"

1
RabidZoo 1 point ago +2 / -1

I'm not asking you to sell me anything. You're the one that put this information up. So you're promoting buying this but you're not a salesman. So then don't bother posting anything about purchasing shit jackass.

1
HocusLocus 1 point ago +2 / -1

You really are trying to scam me into posting a link. And want to be spoon-fed. Open your mouth, here comes the choo-choo!

1
RabidZoo 1 point ago +1 / -0

How am I scamming anything? I was asking if you knew of a retailer that had that package the way you claimed to have gotten yours. You could have PM'd it. Plus it's not self-promotion so you wouldn't get banned. I actually got banned for posting a link for Ted Nugent being ignorant to the rule...not even myself...so I know all about that. But way to be a retarded jerkoff.

7
Foletado 7 points ago +7 / -0

Or if you want to try before you buy. Do it on Amazon. If you like it. Return it to Amazon regardless for free with no restocking fee or return shipping fee. Then buy it from another store.

Try before you buy Free rental period. That cost to them will add up.

6
Adwest232323 6 points ago +6 / -0

Or eBay 😉 a lot of us have stores on there.

4

I use eBay all the time, only used amazon a couple times.

I do this also. Read reviews, look at specs, then buy elsewhere. Thank you very much.

3
FlyinHeadlock 3 points ago +3 / -0

Amazon often does not have the latest model of something. Ran into that a bunch of times. Won't be running into it anymore though. Deported.

I'm doing this now. I'm de-Amazoning my life, which to be honest isn't easy but WILL be done.

Already done with cable, FB/IG, Twitter etc. Apple will be the last to fall as I'm a graphic designer and have been a hardcore user for 20 years, but my next phone will NOT be Apple.

What's really fucked is that my prime membership renewed in late November. I doubt they'll give me back the difference if I cancel now.

1
hellohello 1 point ago +1 / -0

I just buy stuff that says "Sold by and Shipped by Amazon", then return it with some other dead/faulty item.

1
DebbieinDallas 1 point ago +1 / -0

I honestly dont understand why people go to Amazon. If I want to order something, which is mostly all the time now bec store shelves are still empty or barely stocked, I go to Yahoo (I have never used google, ever). Right on the front page they show you several places where you can buy the product, how much it costs from ea place, and shows you lots of images so you can select the right one. Walmart has just changed to free shopping on everything in an effort to compete with Amazon, no minimum, and ebay is great too bec then you are buying from mom & pop and can sort by closest to your location.

I have found that Amazon is NOT the cheapest place to get stuff

1
RMHaas 1 point ago +1 / -0

My prime account is getting suspended by me. I can live without Amazon services. Seems like all these big service providers are anti-free speech commies. Ebay, paypal many CC providers etc.. time to purge them all.

1
Icanbememe 1 point ago +1 / -0

yep, i just do my research on amazon, then buy direct from vendor if i can. most of the items are not cheaper on amazon, especially with "free" shipping, i found recently that amazon charged 10$ more, than vendo and gave free shipping, but the vendor only charged 6.99 for shipping. i bought from the vendor. also some vendors have much better return policies than amazon.
